Questions & answers
Can you set diamonds on the watch I already own?
Yes. You send us your watch, insured; our setters add lab-grown diamonds by hand to the bezel, the hour markers, the dial, the case or the bracelet, and we return it to you insured, usually within three to six weeks.
How is the price worked out?
By the carat and by the stone: lab-grown diamonds at our accent rate, hand setting for each stone, and one service fee for inspection, opening and resealing the case, refinishing, a water-resistance test and insured delivery both ways. We confirm the final price after inspecting your watch, before any work begins.
Will it affect my watch’s warranty?
Setting diamonds means opening the case and working on the metal, which usually ends the original maker’s warranty. We tell you exactly what will change before we begin, and nothing is done without your approval.
Which watches can you work on?
Most metal watches with a case of 28 to 45 mm. We work only on watches that belong to you, and we never add, remove or copy any watchmaker’s name or logo; Shifora is not affiliated with any watch brand.
What diamonds do you use?
Lab-grown diamonds, E to F colour and VS clarity, matched by hand for size and colour. A card listing the carats and the number of stones set comes back with your watch.
How do I start, and what is the deposit?
Send us photos of your watch with the form on this page and pay a deposit of $1,000. We check the photos and reply with a final quotation; the deposit is credited to the price, and refunded in full if we cannot take on your watch or you decide not to go ahead.
