Every piece is certified: the metal is hallmarked, the diamonds are graded by an independent laboratory, and our own certificate lists every gram and every stone.

The certificates
BIS hallmark
Gold is hallmarked to the Bureau of Indian Standards: the BIS mark, the purity (for example 18K 750) and a six-digit HUID code you can check on the BIS Care app.
PGI platinum certificate
Platinum pieces are Pt 950 and come with a Platinum Guild International quality certificate confirming the metal.
IGI report
The International Gemological Institute grades lab-grown and natural diamonds: carat, colour, clarity and cut, with a report number laser-inscribed on the stone.
GIA report
The Gemological Institute of America, the laboratory that created the 4Cs, grades centre stones on request.
SGL report
Solitaire Gemmological Laboratories grades diamonds and coloured gemstones and certifies finished jewellery.
HRD Antwerp report
HRD Antwerp, the Belgian laboratory, grades diamonds to the international standard on request.
Delivery of the papers
With your piece, or just after
Your Shifora certificate and the hallmark travel with the piece. When a laboratory report is still being issued as your piece is ready, we dispatch the piece first and send the report separately, by insured courier or by email, as soon as it arrives.
Questions & answers
Does my jewellery come with a certificate?
Yes. Every piece comes with a Shifora certificate of authenticity; gold is BIS hallmarked, platinum comes with a PGI certificate, and diamonds come with the laboratory report stated on the piece (IGI, GIA, SGL or HRD).
Can I choose the laboratory?
Yes. Tell us at checkout, in the note for our team, or write to us before you order: we can have your centre stone graded by IGI, GIA, SGL or HRD Antwerp.
When do I receive the certificates?
The Shifora certificate and the hallmark are with your piece. A laboratory report that is still being issued when your piece is ready is sent separately after dispatch, by insured courier or by email, so your piece is never held back.
Are lab-grown diamonds certified too?
Yes. IGI and GIA grade lab-grown diamonds to the same 4Cs as mined diamonds; the report states that the diamond is laboratory-grown, and the report number is laser-inscribed on the girdle.
How do I check a BIS hallmark?
Find the six-digit HUID code stamped on the piece and enter it in the BIS Care app: it shows the purity, the jeweller and the hallmarking centre.
